Mr. Terry Scantlebury is the Senior IT Manager at Goddard Enterprises Limited, responsible for effective ICT and Business Solution Management Outcomes, ensuring that key business capability needs are met through IT solutions.
He joined the group in 1991 as the Data Processing Manager at Hanschell Inniss Limited and has since progressed through various roles, including IT Manager – Marketing Division (1995–2010), Group Business Solutions Manager (2010–2020), and his current senior role (2020–2025).
Throughout his career, Terry has gained extensive experience in IT strategic planning, project management, supervision, software development and support, hardware selection and implementation, telecommunications configurations, database management systems installations and configurations, business process re-engineering, BI and Analytics – data modelling and interface design, and digital and mobile solutions.
Before pursuing his degree, Terry worked for six years in manufacturing at Intel Barbados Limited as a process engineering technician and Corcom West Indies Limited as a quality assurance supervisor. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, double major, first-class honors from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill (1988), and an MBA from the School of Business U.W.I (2008).
As a dedicated but financially constrained student, Terry was grateful to receive the Goddard Enterprises Limited scholarship in his final year at university. He assures us that his joining the group was serendipitous, prompted by a friend’s suggestion to apply for the post at Hanschell Inniss Limited.
Since 2008, Terry has also been a part-time facilitator at U.W.I, teaching courses related to the strategic use of information technology and data to transform businesses. In 2018 Coursera invited Terry to become a mentor for the course Fundamentals of Visualization with Tableau, and a contributor in two other courses in the visualization specialization.
He describes himself as a continuous learner with a passion for all things data. Teaching, which began as a way to give back to his university, has become an enjoyable ‘third career’ for him.
