Mr. Nicholas Devaux

B.A. (Hons.)

CEO – GEL Building Supplies

After graduating from the University of Kent in the UK in 1992 with a degree in Economic and Social History, Nicholas Devaux spent four years working in the financial industry in the City of London. He then returned to his native Saint Lucia, where he joined the M&C Group of Companies in February 1996 as an Executive Director overseeing Hardware and Building Supplies. Over the next 12 years, his strategic direction and leadership allowed the business to become the country’s leading hardware and building supplies company.

Following the acquisition of the M&C Group by Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) in 2008, he transitioned into the GEL team and was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Building Supplies Division in January 2022.

In his current role as CEO, Nicholas provides strategic direction and leadership to the five businesses within the division, which include Coreas Building Supplies Ltd. in Saint Vincent, M&C Home Depot Ltd. in Saint Lucia, Anti-Septic Limited and Marshall Trading Limited in Barbados, and the hardware division of Jonas Browne & Hubbard (Grenada) Limited.

Nicholas has over 20 years of experience in the hardware and building supplies industry, with extensive knowledge of commodity markets and global sourcing and logistics. His understanding of the economic and regulatory issues that impact the Caribbean region has allowed him to successfully lead the Building Supplies Division. He has a proven track record of success and has played a pivotal role in the successful merger of two leading hardware businesses, the design and opening of multiple retail store locations, new warehouse facilities, and the implementation of new software systems.
