The Participants and Facilitators

GEL recently held a two-day seminar on August 22nd and 23rd 2016 at its Head Office in Barbados, entitled “Holistic Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Communication Planning” which was well attended by various local and overseas companies throughout the GEL Group.  The seminar was spearheaded by Sonia Inniss, GEL’s Chief Information Officer, who also heads GEL’s Disaster Management Committee and was facilitated by G O Lynch Consultancy Inc through Glenfield Lynch, Managing Director.  He was also assisted by Cinamon Als, Managing Director of Novaris Risk Management and Christal Austin, Principal Consultant at Lyrical Lava PR.

The participants were taken through a series of desktop exercises, role playing and discussions which covered the following topics:

How to Prepare Your People for Natural and Man-Made Hazard Risks

Identifying Hazard Vulnerabilities and Impacts at Your Company Locations

How to Structure, Resource & Manage Your Emergency Management & Disaster Recovery Teams

How to Organize and Mobilize Your Hurricane Risk Management Teams

Crisis Communication – Theory & Practice

Putting Together Your Emergency, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans

The feedback received from the participants showed that the workshop was very relevant, informative and appreciated.
