GCG (SLU) Ltd. is proud to have joined with the Local Community Nurses to engage and educate its employees on the importance of a healthy life style, by celebrating a Health Day on July 14th and 15th, 2016.
The event started with opening remarks by General Manager, Mr. Anthony Samuel followed by an address from Nutritionist Mrs. Fadia Campbell, who gave a brief introduction on the importance of lifestyle choices and an explanation about the test that would be carried out during this activity.

The management and staff were then invited to listen to a nutritional lecture for about one hour after which they were able to do BMI (Body Mass Index), blood pressure and blood sugar testing.
The Health Day would not have been complete without the health diet prepared and served by Chef Thomas Lurice and his team.
Staff members responded positively to the exercise as it heightened the awareness of good nutrition and healthy habits. The HSC will continue to work with the Local Community Nurses as the company strives to improve the overall health and safety of the employees.
The Health and Safety Committee also placed a “Health Suggestion Box” in the cafeteria where employees gave their feedback on the activities, made suggestions on new activities and also on what they considered would be healthy meals that could be served at mealtimes.
The Health Day is expected to be carried out yearly and will be featured prominently on the Health and Safety Calendar of activities.
In the meantime, GCG St Lucia is looking forward to the next “Health” focused activity which is an after work Walk later in the month.
