CGC Uruguay has provided food service to Monte de Plata’s Cellulose pulp plant since April 2014.
Monte de Plata was founded in 2009 and produces and exports pulp of cellulose from eucalyptus. The company is a joint venture between Arauco (a Chilean company) and Stora Enso (a Finnish company), and is the leading exporter in Uruguay.
During the construction of the plant the 40 GCG employees installed at the plant were serving 1500 meals per day. They are now serving 600 meals per day to workers from Montes del Plata and other companies which provide services to the plant. GCG Uruguay is proud to be associated with Monte de Plata which operates 24 hours per day, and continues to make a significant positive impact on the Uruguayan economy.
