As part of its continued commitment to corporate citizenship, Goddard Catering Group (St Lucia) (GCG SLU) focuses on supporting education, youth and sports at various learning institutions in St Lucia particularly in the south where the company operates.
In the recent past, the Anse Ger Secondary School, a school adopted by the company, hosted a Career Development Symposium for its Form 4 students, with the aim of exposing pupils to the dynamics and structure of the work setting in various fields. Team members: Eyan Celise and Wayne Bellas from the Quality Assurance and Paradise Inventory departments respectively, represented the company and delivered exceedingly well. The two ambassadors set up shop quite impressively which drew many of the students to the booth, an attraction which afforded the team members the opportunity to engage in some healthy and mutually beneficial discourse.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the District, Human Resource Manager, Tandi Flood, facilitated a Mock Interview session with the National Skills Development Center. This initiative was geared towards students completing the Productivity Enhancement Training Program funded by the Government of St. Lucia. This initiative sought to assess the interviewing skills of trainees and provide them with “tips for better interviewing”. One of the many benefits of the session was the potential reduction of stress and anxiety levels prior to attending a real life interview which can serve as an impediment to optimal performance.
