The Goddard Group of Companies in St. Lucia (GGSL) is pleased to announce the merging of its two food & beverage distribution companies, Bryden and Partners Ltd. (Brydens) and Peter and Company Ltd. (PCL) into a single, highly efficient marketing and distribution company. This exciting new venture for the Group in St. Lucia brings together two food & beverage companies who each bring many years of experience in the industry. PCL with over 120 years and Brydens with 40 years of experience. The merging of these companies will allow them to leverage their strengths while accessing greater economies of scale and will create a strengthened combined portfolio of brands including, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Bacardi, Dewar’s, Eve, Anchor, Moet, Hennessy and Grace to name a few.
Both teams are currently diligently working together to ensure that all is in place for the targeted commencement date for the merged entity of, October 1st 2015. The following initiatives are currently being undertaken:
1) Expanding the existing warehousing capacity at Cul de Sac, which will be the central warehousing and distribution facility for the merged entity. A 30,000 square foot warehouse will be built and this will house the dry goods and pharmaceuticals portfolio whilst the existing 20,000 square foot dry and liquor warehouse will be reorganized to house the liquor and tobacco portfolio. The sales teams for the cold storage of both distribution companies are already working jointly as of the 1st April, 2015;
2) Enhanced brand management with dedicated and focused sales, merchandizing and support teams. Retooling and restructuring existing teams as is necessary;
3) Augmenting the delivery fleet with newer, more efficient trucks with greater delivery capacity whilst ensuring greater delivery synergies from the merged entity;
4) Amalgamating and streamlining the administrative and finance functions to achieve greater operational efficiencies.
GGSL is excited about the merger and anticipates that its customers and stakeholders will benefit from improved efficiencies and synergies of the merged entity. The merging of these two entities is no small feat and is being made possible through the hard work and dedication of the food & beverage distribution teams who are soon to be united under one operation. As the Group looks forward we are encouraged by this new opportunity to strengthen our business through this shining example that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
