Local Tennis Star Hayden Lewis has received some much needed support from local conglomerate Goddard Enterprises Ltd (GEL) as he makes his bid this weekend to maintain supremacy on the tennis circuit.
Having represented Barbados at the Davis Cup for over 12 years, he has created history for Barbados as he now has the best winning records at the Davis Cup competition and he is one of the players who can be credited for taking Team Barbados from Group IV up to Group I. Barbados is the only English speaking Caribbean country in Group I and they would have defeated teams from much larger countries such as Chile and Mexico.
On signing the contract for sponsorship with Hayden, Jennifer Bradshaw-Wood – Divisional General Manager at Goddard Enterprises stated “We at Goddard’s always applaud excellence and we can see that Hayden is on the right track to tennis excellence. If we can help nurture this talent, we may see a Barbadian at Wimbledon yet, so Barbadians need to come out and support the team when they play this weekend”
She wished Hayden and his team mates good luck in all their endeavours as they embark on this first leg of the 2015 Davis Cup.
Goddard Enterprises will be helping Hayden, through the Friends of Hayden Lewis Trust to cover some of his costs for coaching and for his supplements. He plans to proudly wear the GEL logo on the sleeve of his shirts to showcase his sponsor.
