OPERATIONS MANAGER - (Hipac Limited)
 
Description:

Hipac Limited, a leading manufacturer and distributor of processed meat products is seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join its team in the capacity of Operations Manager.

Duties include:

  • Design and effect improvements in operations to correct, improve and/or fine-tune Production Processes and Operating Systems to maximise cost-efficiency, while meeting the quality standards required.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of Actual and Expected Production Performance vs. Planned or Scheduled and Standard performance by personal observation/analysis and by liaising with Operations personnel.
  • Uphold the Company’s quality systems including the HACCP program.
  • Continuously seek to contribute to the upgrading of the quality of products being processed in the plant and the long-term profitability of the Company.    
  • Effectively monitor the production flows so as to identify capacities and bottlenecks and streamline operations so as to meet production requirements in the most cost-effective and quality-focused manner.
  • Effectively manage production personnel.


Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or in Food Science/Technology. 
  • Must also have at least 5 years’ relevant supervisory/management experience.
  • A working knowledge of the manufacturing sector would be an asset.

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and build successful teams.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise, communicate and direct.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Deadline driven with excellent time management skills.
  • Good assessment, questioning, evaluating and reporting techniques.
  • Customer oriented.


Benefits:

The salary and benefit package for this position will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience and will include pension, medical and group life insurance.
