Mr. Dereck Foster is a Co-Founder of Automotive Art, which is the Caribbeans largest automotive after-market retailer. He served as its CEO between 1990 and 2008, and is currently the Executive Chairman of the Art Holdings Group. Over the years, he has grown the company from a staff of six  to a multi-national organisation operating in over thirty  countries. This includes three  Automotive Art stores in Barbados, two  in St. Lucia and Franchisee operated stores in seven  other Caribbean countries.
In 2002 Automotive Art opened a sales & distribution arm in the USA which supplies over thirty  markets in the Caribbean and Latin America. In 2006 the Art Holdings Group acquired Marshall Trading; a twenty-five  year old lumber and building supplies company in Barbados.
Between 2008 and 2011 Mr. Foster partnered with Terra Caribbean in the acquisition and restructuring of Bajan Services Ltd.; a thirty  year old real estate services company specialising in sales, management and rental of luxury holiday homes. In 2012 he concluded a joint venture acquisition of an automotive paint manufacturer in Poland, which will produce Automotive Arts private label paints, allowing unrestricted global access.
Mr. Foster was educated in Guyana and has won several awards, including the 1996 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Retail & Distribution. He served as President of the Barbados Manufacturers Association from 2001 2002, and currently serves on the boards of several companies outside of the Art Holdings Group, including the West India Rum Distillery and the National Initiative for Service Excellence.
